There should be a pinky sized gap between your heel and the back the of clog, and plenty of room in the toe box area. The instep will be the snuggest part of the shoe and your heel should lift up slightly out of the shoe as you walk.

I am a professional chef and spend a lot of time on my feet. These shoes are life-savers. It takes awhile to properly break them in, but once you do; you will want to wear them all the time!
I recently ordered a second pair, in the hard-to-find narrow width, so I can have a backup pair to wear OUTSIDE of work.
Sanitas, and a good, sharp knife are INDISPENSABLE, for any chef worth their salt!
These are better made then Danskos, yet Dansko has a better selection of colors. Buy these, give them TIME to conform to your feet and your knees and back will be glad!!!
