There should be a pinky sized gap between heel and back of clog, and plenty of room in toe box area. The instep will be the snuggest part of shoe and your heel should lift up slightly out of the shoe as you walk.

I'm an adult woman with smaller feet. These have been my favorite hospital work shoes for years, comfortable on the concrete floors. They don't wear out as fast as sneakers. The Mary Jane style also works better for my feet than traditional logs
