  • Sizing & Fit

There should be a pinky finger's width of space between your heel and the back of the clog. The snuggest point should be across the instep — that's your anchor. The toe box should feel roomy, with room for your toes to spread naturally. This gap and roominess are intentional design features, not signs of a poor fit. If it feels like you can walk out of the clog, we suggest trying a size down. Conversely, if you experience any restriction of movement, we suggest sizing up.

Sanita sizes in EU whole sizes. Our sizing is unique to Sanita and may differ from other footwear brands, so we recommend referring to our size guide before ordering. Most customers find they fit true to size when compared against a standard US shoe size. If you typically wear a US half size, size up to the next whole EU size. Use our Size Chart & Fit Guide to find your conversion.

Wide fit styles offer more volume across the instep and toe box, providing extra room for wider feet. Regular fit styles follow standard clog proportions. You can filter by "Wide Fit" on any collection page to see which styles are available.

Select Sanita styles feature a removable footbed, making them compatible with custom orthotics. However, our Professional clogs feature a built-in footbed, which is not designed to accommodate custom orthotics. Filter for Removable Footbed styles to find compatible options.

No. Sanita clogs are designed to feel comfortable from the first wear. If your pair feels tight or uncomfortable at first try on, that's a fit issue — not something to wait out. Contact our customer service team or start an exchange before wearing them so we can help you find the right size or style while the shoes are still in returnable condition.

Use our Size Chart & Fit Guide for full EU/US/UK conversions for Women's, Men's, and Kids'. As a general reference: Women's US 7 = EU 38; Men's US 9 = EU 43. Because Sanita only comes in whole EU sizes, half-size US wearers should size up.

  • Comfort & Support

Yes — Sanita clogs are designed specifically for people on their feet for long periods. The firm base provides a supportive platform, the contoured footbed encourages natural foot positioning, and the roomy toe box allows toes to spread with each step. The result is a shoe built to help reduce fatigue over the course of a long shift or day.

Sanita clogs feature a contoured footbed designed to support the foot's natural shape throughout the day. The firm base encourages a stable, natural walking motion. Styles with removable footbeds are compatible with custom orthotics if additional support is needed.

Sanita Professional clogs are widely used in healthcare settings. They're designed for long shifts on hard surfaces, support natural walking motion, and many styles feature certified slip-resistant outsoles. They also meet APMA acceptance criteria. That said, the best fit depends on your individual foot shape and comfort needs — our Find the Right Sanita guide can help narrow it down.

Yes. Sanita shoes carry the Seal of Acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), an independent recognition awarded to footwear that promotes healthy foot function.

ASTM certification means the outsole has been independently tested and meets the American Society for Testing and Materials standard for slip resistance on wet and oily surfaces. Sanita's Smart Step collection carries this certification. You can filter for Certified Slip-Resistant styles on any collection page.

  • Product Questions

Sanita clogs are handcrafted in Poland and designed in Denmark. Each pair is made by skilled cobblers, and slight natural variation between individual pairs is a characteristic of that handmade process.

Professional clogs feature a polyurethane outsole designed for all-day comfort on hard surfaces, easy cleaning, and slip resistance. Wood Heritage styles are built on a genuine wooden base — the original clog construction — and are ideal for customers who prefer traditional craftsmanship and a firmer platform. Both lines are handcrafted in Poland.

Yes, though the level of outdoor use depends on the style. Professional clogs and slip-resistant styles hold up well on smooth outdoor surfaces. Wooden-base styles should be kept away from prolonged wet or rough terrain. For outdoor-friendly options, look for styles with durable polyurethane outsoles.

Care varies by material. Leather uppers should be spot cleaned with our Spot Removal Spray and conditioned periodically. Easy-clean and synthetic uppers can be wiped down with mild soap and water. The wooden base should be kept dry. For full instructions by material type, see our Care Instructions page.

Yes. Sanita offers a selection of vegan styles made without animal-derived materials. To find them, filter by "Vegan" on any collection page. Vegan styles are available in both Women's and Men's, and span several silhouettes, including clogs and sneakers.

Sanita does not offer an in-house repair service or replacement parts. If your clogs need repair work, we recommend bringing them to a trusted local cobbler — many cobblers are experienced in clog construction and can significantly extend the life of your pair. If you believe your issue may be a manufacturing defect rather than wear and tear, contact us before pursuing repair, as it may be covered under our warranty.

Sanita clogs are not fully waterproof, but many styles feature water-resistant uppers that withstand splashes and light moisture. The level of water resistance varies by material — smooth and Cabrio leathers tend to repel water better than suede, oiled leather, and fabric uppers. To maintain water resistance over time, treat leather uppers periodically with a leather conditioner or water-repellent spray. See our Care Instructions page for guidance by material type.

Select Sanita styles feature a certified slip-resistant outsole tested to ASTM standards — the American Society for Testing and Materials benchmark for slip resistance on wet and oily surfaces. These styles are part of our Smart Step collection and are a strong choice for kitchens, healthcare environments, and other fast-paced workplaces where surface conditions are unpredictable. Filter by Certified Slip-Resistant on any collection page to see which styles qualify. Not all Sanita styles carry this certification, so if slip resistance is a priority, filtering for it is the most reliable way to shop.

A number of Sanita styles are available in wide and narrow fits, in addition to standard width. Wide-fit styles offer more volume across the instep and toe box — a meaningful difference for customers who have struggled with standard clogs that feel too snug across the foot. Narrow-fit styles sit closer to the foot for a more secure fit on narrower feet. To find your options, filter by "Wide Fit" or "Narrow Fit" on any collection page. If you're unsure which fit is right for you, our Find the Right Sanita guide can help.

Clogs are one of the oldest and most proven footwear designs for people who spend long hours on their feet. The firm, supportive base encourages a natural walking motion and helps distribute weight evenly with each step. The roomy toe box allows toes to splay naturally rather than compress, which makes a significant difference over the course of a long day. And unlike many soft-soled shoes that lose their shape over time, a well-made clog maintains its structure and support wear after wear.

Sanita clogs are handcrafted in Poland and carry the APMA Seal of Acceptance — an independent recognition from the American Podiatric Medical Association for footwear that supports healthy foot function. For a deeper look at what makes the clog design work, visit our Why Clogs page.

  • Warranty

Yes. Every pair of Sanita shoes is backed by a limited warranty against defects in manufacturing and craftsmanship for up to one year from the date of purchase. If your shoes develop a defect within that window, we'll work with you to make it right.

The warranty applies to the original purchaser only and requires proof of purchase. It covers manufacturing and craftsmanship defects — it does not cover normal wear and tear. Examples of wear and tear not covered include scuffs, scratches, creasing, peeling of the edging, leather darkening or fading, stains, insole compression, or damage resulting from improper care or cleaning.

If your shoes were purchased through sanita.com, contact us directly with your order information and photos of the issue. If your shoes were purchased through an authorized retail partner, the warranty is honored through that retailer.

Please note that the warranty does not apply to shoes purchased from unauthorized third-party resellers, including unauthorized sellers on Amazon or eBay, nor does it cover factory seconds. If you're unsure whether your retailer is authorized, use our Store Locator to verify.
