There should be a pinky sized gap between your heel and the back the of clog, and plenty of room in the toe box area. The instep will be the snuggest part of the shoe and your heel should lift up slightly out of the shoe as you walk.

I got these shoes and right out the box I put them on and they fit perfectly. I am greatly satisfied these shoes and planning to buy the similar shoe in the ombre color. I had a truck run over my foot and crushed it and pushed just about every nerve into one place. This shoe doesn't bother the spot. I truly love this shoe.
