There should be a pinky sized gap between your heel and the back the of clog, and plenty of room in the toe box area. The instep will be the snuggest part of the shoe and your heel should lift up slightly out of the shoe as you walk.

I had to hope the sizing chart was right, but customer service was fairly helpful. I wear 39 in Dansko so I ordered 40 in Sanita. A little loose in the heel but snug over my arch. One full day on the job and they feel great, arch not a problem. Danskos roll my ankle in an unnatural angle. These are more neutral and feel great! I'm a CST so standing all day

Too big!
The website says for half sizes, size up. I wear an 8.5, so ordered a size 40. They are too big, and now I'm stuck with $ 115 shoes I can't wear. Disappointed.
